Clause 2: Normative reference

Normative references are those documents which takes predominance over any other document having similar information.
The standard states ISO 9000:2005 (or its recent version) as normative reference, which means definitions given in ISO 9000:2005 shall be applicable to the requirements defined in ISO 9001:2005 standard and it takes predominance over other documents having definitions such as dictionary meanings.
